the treatment tank, but would be pumped directly into drums or totes and managed as a corrosive
characteristic hazardous waste.
The process tanks are typically never emptied, but rather replenished with de-ionized water and
process chemicals. If for any reason the process tanks would have to be emptied, the tanks would
be tested for pH. If the pH of the process tanks is greater than 2 or less than 12.5, the wastewater
would then be pumped to the treatment tank in the same manner as the rinse tanks. If the pH of the
wastewater in the process tanks is 2, or less or 12.5, or more, it would then be pumped directly
into drums or totes and managed as a corrosive characteristic hazardous waste.
1.4 Pressure Washing Station
Metal products are pressure washed outside the facility at the covered pressure washing station
[Attachment G—Pressure Washing Station Diagram]. The pressure washing is done to remove
any imperfections and does not utilize any chemicals. Rinse water from the pressure washing
station is pumped into tank 410 on the chem line. When tank#10 reaches capacity it is then tested
for pH, if the pH is more than 2 or less than 12.5, it is then pumped to the treatment tank. If the pH
is 2 or less or 12.5 or more, it would then be pumped directly into drums or totes and managed as
a corrosive characteristic hazardous waste.
i
i
Premier Finishing PYaste Analysis Plan
3
