FMac Dermid
Industrial Solutions
IRIDITE ZDC ACTIVATOR
Surface conditioner for Zinc, Aluminum and
their Alloys
#113076
Description
Iridite ZDC Activator is a liquid product for the chemical activation of zinc based
alloys before the application of galvanic coatings or conversion coatings
(passivation).
The treatment of these materials with Iridite ZDC Activator improves the
adhesion of the galvanic coatings and the quality of directly applied conversion
coatings.
Iridite ZDC Activator can also be used as a cleaner/activator or activator for
aluminium alloys. It provides a very minimal etch and removes oxides and other
contaminants and provides a surface that is ready to accept the subsequent
conversion coating.
1. APPLICATION
Iridite ZDC Activator is used after the preliminary cleaning of zinc and aluminium
alloys in order to produce the required deoxidation prior to the application of
electrocoating or conversion coatings.
The time of treatment is variable and can be set from seconds to several
minutes. Also, the working bath can be prepared at different concentrations and
/or pH in order to optimize the activity.
Iridite ZDC Activator is primarily used in immersion plants. The inclusion of
Keykote 84 into the working solution will allow for spray cleaning and
deoxidation applications.
All plant structures and fittings must be made of acid resistant materials.
/ IAIyIIpuu+Ir,1J fffyny4444qI
l ❑tiL L Telephone:800-325-4156 11Fax:203-575-7990 Sales Order Fax: 203-575-5915
IIIJJJ IIP www.rnacdermld.com
