OPERATING CONDITIONS <br /> Operating Concentration 50 — 150 ml/L <br /> Temperature Ambient-- 80°C <br /> pH at Working Concentration 2.5 - 3.0 <br /> (can be adjusted--see solution control section) <br /> 3. SOLUTION MAKE UP <br /> Add slowly to water the required quantity of Iridite ZDC Activator while mixing <br /> effectively to produce a homogeneous solution. Following this, a solution analysis <br /> should be carried out in order to confirm the solution concentration. <br /> 4. SOLUTION ANALYSIS <br /> Sample Preparation <br /> Ensure the bath is mixed thoroughly before taking the sample and that the <br /> sample is then representative of the whole bath. Allow the bath to cool down to <br /> room temperature. If cloudy, allow to settle or filter with filter paper. <br /> H Ad'ustment <br /> If due to plant or general processing circumstances it is found necessary to <br /> adjust or rebalance the operating pH value, it is recommended that either <br /> Ammonium Hydrogen Carbonate is used to increase the pH value or Citric Acid <br /> is used to lower the pH value. <br /> Analysis <br /> Titration —Total Acidity Method <br /> Reagents; <br /> • Phenolphthalein indicator <br /> • 1 N Sodium Hydroxide with 40 g/L of Sodium Citrate. <br /> [The 1 N Sodium Hydroxide plus citrate is prepared by starting with 1 N Sodium <br /> Hydroxide and adding analytical reagent sodium citrate and dissolving.
