Titrate to the pink/red endpoint with 1 N Sodium Hydroxide (with <br /> Sodium Citrate). <br /> Calculation: <br /> MIs of 1 N Sodium Hydroxide X 0.57 = % by volume of Iridite ZDC Activator <br /> Titration —Oxidation Method <br /> (This method is used if the pH is adjusted to work outside the normal make up <br /> pH of the Iridite ZDC Activator) <br /> Reagents: <br /> • Potassium Permanganate 0.1 N <br /> • Oxalic Acid 0.1 N <br /> • Acid mixture [95 ml Sulphuric Acid (96%) + 5 ml Phosphoric Acid (85%)j <br /> Procedure: <br /> 1. Pipette 2 ml of the working solution to be analyzed and place in a 250 ml <br /> Erlenmeyer flask. <br /> 2. Add exactly 50 ml of Potassium Permanganate 0.1 N <br /> 3. Heat to 60-70°C and react for 5 minutes <br /> 4. Cool the solution before adding 5ml of the acid mixture. <br /> 5. Heat to 60- 70'C and add exactly 50 ml Oxalic Acid 0.1 N. <br /> 6. React the solution until it becomes colorless. <br /> 7. Titrate, while keeping the solution under heat, with Potassium <br /> Permanganate 0.1 N until a pink color is maintained. <br /> Calculation: <br /> ml/L Iridite ZDC Activator = ml Potassium Permanganate 0.1 N x 2.75 <br /> 5.
