Section 2: Waste Analysis I[Dlanlm
2.Y Constitu¢nts 8t Charact¢ristics
The rinse water and filter cake wastes have the potential to be contaaaineted with metals regulated
by Califotnia [Title 22 CCR 66261.24(e)(2)(A)] and or exhibit the clvnaacteristic of corrosivity. '
[Attachment C—Safety Data Sheets fm•Plating Products]
The pH ofthe rinse water is tested manually on-site prior to transferring to on-site hoatmeni system
(if the pH is 2, or less m- 72.5, or moae the rinse water will be sequestered and managed as a
corrosive(D002)dtaracteristic waste).Logs with the pH of the rinse water are maintained on-site
fnr a minimum of three years.
Water samples have been collected£rom the rinse tanks attd filter cake and analyzed for California
Regulated Metals(CAM-77),which are constituents of concern acrd authorized to ba treated under
the facility's permit. [Attachment D—Analytical Reports]
2.2 T¢st Methods
The following table identifies the test methods used for the filter calve and aqueous waste analysis:
Rinse Water CAM-17 Metals 3010A7470A(Mercury)
Filter Catw CAM-17 Metals 6020
2.3 Sample Collection Procedures
Twice a month on the £rat Tuesday and thud Thursday of every month precision enviro-tech
comes to our facility to collect sample of our waste water. These saanples are collected and tested
independently by precision enviro-tech. They have a rotating schedaile to test for certain
constituents. These test results are given to us and we turn them in to the city of Stockton's water
district
Approximately twice/year or when deemed necessaay the contents of the tanks are replaced end
tirensfeaxed to the 750-gallon storage tank. We then use flocculant,CleanCloar to panduce a pin
floc stirring at 100 RPM and raise the pH to 9. The metal we normally have to remove, drops out
of solution best at a pH of 9. Tho crystals at the bottom of the tank ere then drained into a holding
vessel. This is treated as hazardous waste end is disposed of by Shop Hezaad solutions as a
hazardous waste.
Pvanuer Mnls/r/ng Hroa/e Ana/Psis P/an
2
