MIL-A-8243B <br /> 4.3.7 pH value - A 50-percent aqueous solution of the i <br /> anti-icing fluid shall be prepared in accordance with ASTM Method D1176. <br /> The pH value of this solution shall be determined electrometrically, <br /> using the apparatus and procedure specified in ASTM method D1287. <br /> # 4.3.8 Flash point - The flash point shall be determined <br /> in accordance with method 1103.6 of Federal Test Method Standard No. 791 <br /> (ASTM method D92) , except that the fire point need not be determined. <br /> 4.3.9 Pour point - The pour point of the fluid and of a <br /> 70-percent aqueous solution of the fluid prepared in accordance with <br /> ASTM method D1176 shall be determined in accordance with method 201.8 of <br /> Federal Test Method Standard No. 791 (ASTM method D97) , except that the <br /> cloud point need not be determined. <br /> 4.3.10 Specific gravity - The specific gravity �of the fluid <br /> shall be determined in accordance with ASW method D1122. <br /> 4.3.11 Color - A stock solution shall be prepared as follows: <br /> Dissolve 1.245 grams of potassium chloroplatinate (containing 0.5 grams <br /> of platinum) and 1.000 gram of crystallized cobaltous chloride (CoC12.H20) <br /> in distilled water with 100 milliliters of concentrated hydrochloric acid. <br /> Dilute to 1 liter with distilled water. The standard color solution shall <br /> be prepared by diluting 3 milliliters of the stock color solution to 100 _ <br /> milliliters with distilled water. The color shall be determined by trans- <br /> ferring 100 milliliters of the fluid and 100 milliliters of the standard <br /> color solution to matched tall-form Nessler tubes and comparing by viewing <br /> vertically down through the tubes against a white background. <br /> N-i:;-u rc a r R I c qv s f Fa rZ- /2-�n J �k c-n --•^/. <br /> 4.4 Rejection criteria - When any acceptance test sample <br /> fails to meet any of the test requirements of this specification or when <br /> the number of defective filled containers exceeds the acceptance number <br /> as specified in 4.2.3, the lot represented by the sample shall be rejected. <br /> 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY <br /> 5.1 Packaging - Packaging shall be level A or C as <br /> specified (see 6.2). <br /> # 5.1.1 Level A - The anti-icing and deicing-defrosting <br /> fluid shall be furnished in 5-gallon or 55-gallon containers as speci- <br /> fied (see 6.2) . The 5-gallon containers shall conform to Type I, Class 3 <br /> (screw-cap closure) of PPP-P-704.
