P-C-111C <br /> 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS <br /> 4. 1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the <br /> contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance <br /> of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise <br /> specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any <br /> commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Government reserves <br /> the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification <br /> where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services <br /> conform to prescribed requirements. <br /> ( 4.2 Sampling for lot acceptance. <br /> 4.2. 1 Lot. For the purpose of sampling and inspection, a lot shall con- <br /> sist of carbon removing compound from one manufacturer's batch offered for <br /> � delivery at one time. <br /> 4.2.2 Sampling for inspection of filled containers (at the contractor's <br /> plant) . A random sample of filled containers shall be selected in accordance <br /> with MIL-STD-105 at inspection level I , and acceptable quality level (AQL) _ <br /> 2.5 percent defective to verify compliance with all requirements of this <br /> specification regarding fill , closure, marking and other requirements not <br /> involving tests. <br /> 4.2.3 Sampling for tests. <br /> 4.2.3. 1 From each inspection lot (see 4.2. 1) , select two 3-gallon samples <br /> at random. The two samples shall not be taken from the same container or <br /> containers. The samples taken shall be placed in separate clean, dry, metal <br /> or glass containers, sealed, marked and forwarded to the testing laboratory. <br /> 4.2.3.2 When requested by the procuring activity, sample specimens shall <br /> ' be selected in accordance with 4.2.3. 1 and forwarded to the specified Govern- <br /> ment laboratory for verification testing. <br /> 4. 3 Inspection. <br /> 4.3. 1 Inspection of filled containers (at the contractor's plant) . Each <br /> sample filled container as specified in 4.2.2 shall be examined for defects <br /> of construction of the container and the closure, for evidence of leakage, and <br /> for unsatisfactory markings. Any container in the sample having one or more <br /> defects, or under required fill , shall be rejected, and if the number of de- <br /> fective containers in any sample exceeds the acceptance number of the appro- <br /> priate sampling plan of MIL-STD-105, the lot represented by the sample shall <br /> be rejected. <br /> v 7 <br />
