P-C-111C <br /> 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY <br /> 5.1 Packaging. The packaging shall be level A, B, or C as specified <br /> (see 6.2) . <br /> 5.1.1 Level A. The carbon removing compound shall be furnished in 5- or <br /> 55-gallon drums as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). Five-gallon <br /> pails shall conform to type 1, class 3 or 8 of PPP-P-704. Each pail shall be <br /> equipped with spout or nozzle closure, with outer seal. The color of the <br /> exterior coating shall be olive drab. Fifty-five-gallon drums shall conform <br /> to type 11 of PPP-D-729. <br /> 5.1.2 Level B. The carbon removing compound shall be furnished in 55- <br /> gallon drums conforming to PPP-D-732, type 11 or PPP-D-729, type II. <br /> 5.1.3 Level C. The carbon removing compound shall be packaged in accord- <br /> ance with supplier's commercial practice. Protection shall be such as to <br /> prevent deterioration during shipment and insure safe delivery at destination. <br /> 5.2 Packing. The packing shall be level A, B, or C as specified (see 6.2). <br /> 5.2.1 Levels A and B. Five- and 55-gallon drums will require no over- <br /> packing. <br /> 5.2.2 Level C. rhe carbon removing compound shall be packed for shipment <br /> in compliance with common carrier regulations applicable to that mode of <br /> transportation to ensure safe delivery at destination at lowest transporta- <br /> tion costs without assessment of penalty charges for improper packing. <br /> I <br /> 5.3 Marking. <br /> 5.3.1 Civil agencies. Containers shall be marked in accordance with Fed. <br /> Std. No. 123. Each container shall also be labeled as specified in 5.3.3. <br /> 5.3.2 Military activities.
