A list of common carriers and packing concerns serving the area <br /> in which the property is located will be furnished upon request.The lists are compiled from local sources and may not be <br /> complete. The Government will not guarantee the services of the concerns nor will it assume responsibility or liability due <br /> to the Purchaser's selection of or services furnished by any of the firms listed. <br /> 11. INTERSTATE COMMERCE ACT. Attention is invited to the fact that the Interstate Commerce Act makes it <br /> unlawful for anyone, other than those duly authorized pursuant to that act, to transport this property in interstate <br /> commerce for hire.Anyone aiding or abetting in such violation is a principal in committing the offense(49 U.S.C.301-327 <br /> and 18 U.S.C.2). <br /> 12. FALSE ADVERTISEMENTS AND UNFAIR OR DECEPTIVE ACTIONS. Attention is invited to the fact that the use <br /> of false or misleading advertisements in commerce or other unfair or deceptive actions or practices such as mis-labeling or <br /> deceptive repackaging are unlawful (15 U. S. C.45 et seq).In disposing of any property purchased from the Government, <br /> Purchasers should excercise extreme caution in preparing advertisements to assure that they do not violate applicable <br /> Federal or state laws. <br /> 13. SALE OR USE TAX. Any sale or use tax imposed by any state or political subdivision thereof will be paid directly by <br /> the Purchaser to said state or political subdivision thereof levying such tax. <br /> 14. EXPORT. Property purchased from the Federal Government may or may not be authorized for export from the <br /> United States. It is the sole responsibility of the Purchaser to obtain any necessary clearances or approvals for export of <br /> any property purchased from the Department of Defense. <br /> 15. BIDDER RECORDING SERVICES. Commercial recording firms occasionally attend public bid openings at sales <br /> offices to record and furnish the bid results to its customers. The names of those firms are available upon request to the <br /> sales office. Information provided by such firms is not official and will not be construed to imply that an award will be <br /> made. <br /> 16. ENVIROMENTAL POLLUTION. All bidders are advised that they must comply with all applicable Federal,state and <br /> local laws, ordnances and regulations with respect to enviromental pollution during the processing or use of material <br /> purchased from the Department of Defense. <br /> 2 <br />
