The SSHO will be responsible for ensuring <br /> the evacuation, emergency treatment, emergency transport of site personnel as necessary, and <br /> notification of emergency response units and appropriate OTIE management staff. <br /> The SSHO shall conduct an inspection of emergency response equipment on a monthly basis. <br /> This equipment includes fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and spill control equipment. <br /> In the event of an emergency situation, such as a fire, explosion, etc., the SSHO or their <br /> designee shall immediately: <br /> • Establish the safety of all personnel, direct the administration of first aid as appropriate; <br /> • Shut down all combustion equipment; <br /> • Notify local emergency response dispatch and give the exact location of the evacuated <br /> area; <br /> • Prohibit outside personnel from entering the evacuated area until the Fire Department <br /> arrives; <br /> • Provide emergency equipment as appropriate; and <br /> • Notify the PM and SHM, if not already notified. <br /> 9.2.4.2 Emergency Equipment <br /> OTIE will supply and maintain all protective clothing and emergency equipment necessary for <br /> our crews. Basic emergency and first aid equipment is as follows for each activity as determined <br /> by the SSHO: <br /> • First aid kits with biohazard kit , <br /> • One 2A-10 B: C type, dry chemical fire extinguisher, <br /> • Emergency 15-minute, ANSI approved eye wash, <br /> • Spill equipment including sorbent pads and booms, absorbent and bags, plastic sheeting <br /> and one or more 55-gallon drums, <br /> • Poly-Tyvek clothing, nitrile gloves, PVC boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and <br /> • Cellular phones and/or radios. <br /> The above units will be setup each day in close proximity to work activities. These will be shown <br /> on the site map and discussed in the initial site orientation. <br /> OTIE 23 <br />
