APP/SSHP <br /> Soil Excavation at California National Guard Armory <br /> Lodi, California <br /> • The activity hazard analyses; <br /> • The use of PPE; <br /> • Decontamination procedures; and <br /> • Site control. <br /> The SSHO has authority to stop work if unacceptable safety or health conditions exist and take <br /> necessary action to reestablish and maintain safe working conditions. The SSHO will consult <br /> with and coordinate any modifications to the SSHP with the OTIE SHM, the PM, and the CO. <br /> The SSHO will serve as a member of the Contractor's quality control staff on matters relating to <br /> health and safety. The SSHO will conduct accident investigations and prepare accident reports. <br /> The SSHO will conduct daily safety inspections and document health and safety findings in the <br /> daily reports. In coordination with site management and the SHM, the SSHO will recommend <br /> corrective actions for identified deficiencies and oversee the corrective actions. The SSHO will <br /> provide continued support for upgrading/downgrading of the level of personal protection. The <br /> SSHO will be responsible for recommending changes to engineering controls, work practices, <br /> and PPE. He will also coordinate with local emergency response organizations prior and during <br /> work activities as needed. <br /> The 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety training (minimum) and current CPR/First-Aid <br /> certification is required for the SSHO. Evidence of current training must be readily available. <br /> Training certificates for key personnel are included in Appendix F of the APP/SSHP. Resumes <br /> for the SHM and SSHO are included in Appendix D. <br /> 2.5 EMPLOYEES (INCLUDING SUBCONTRACTORS) <br /> As required: Obey safety and health work practices issued by law and by the Project Team. <br /> Read, understand, and sign the SSHP compliance agreement. Wear PPE as directed by this <br /> SSHP. Use safety equipment as directed by this SSHP. Inform the SSHO of any prescription <br /> medication taken during the project. Report recognized unsafe conditions and actions to the <br /> SSHO. Report any accidents, exposures, near misses, or property damage immediately. <br /> All current training certificates and medical surveillance clearances must be on file with the <br /> SSHO before each worker can commence work on site. <br /> 2.6 VISITORS <br /> Follow the direction of the SSHO. Read, understand, and sign the APP/SSHP Compliance <br /> Agreement. Do not enter the work area unless documentation of the appropriate OSHA-required <br /> training has been obtained, submitted to the SSHO and you have been authorized to enter the <br /> work area. Use designated PPE, as appropriate. Use safety equipment as directed by this <br /> SSHP. Report recognized unsafe conditions and actions to the SSHO. Report any accidents, <br /> exposures, near misses, or property damage immediately. <br /> 2.7 WORK STOPPAGE AUTHORITY <br /> The FTL, SSHO, and PM will have the authority to make on-the-spot corrections dealing with <br /> deviations from the SSHP. If it is felt that the infraction cannot be remedied immediately, and is <br /> of such nature that continuance of the job could result in significant violations, these individuals <br /> will have the authority to order a cessation of the activity until the problem can be remedied. <br /> OTIE 4 <br />
