APP/SSHP <br /> Soil Excavation at California National Guard Armory <br /> Lodi, California <br /> • Potentially contaminated PPE should be stored in a well-ventilated area, with good air <br /> flow around each item. <br /> • To help avoid PPE failure from improper storage, fold or hang clothing according to <br /> manufacturer instructions. <br /> • Monitoring: The SSHO will be responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of the PPE <br /> program. In the event the SSHO has reason to believe that any affected employee who <br /> has been trained does not have the understanding and skill required for the use of the <br /> PPE, the SSHO shall assure the employee receives the necessary retraining to acquire <br /> the appropriate skills. <br /> 6.2.3 Certification <br /> The SSHO shall verify that each affected employee has received and understood the required <br /> training by a written certification that identifies the name of each employee trained, the date(s) <br /> of the training, and the subjects taught. <br /> 6.2.4 Provisions for Limitations of Use of the Level D PPE in Temperature <br /> Extremes and Heat Stress <br /> Level D PPE will not put undue stress on employees as would Level C, B or A PPE systems. <br /> However, all personnel are to be medically cleared by our occupational physician to work on this <br /> project site. Heat stress will be monitored accordingly following the "Heat index" method <br /> presented in section 8.0. <br /> OTI E 22 <br />
