These comments, along with our responses, are provided below.
1n addition, the report summarizing the results of the Junt 28, 1995 ground water sampling
event is also enclosed for your review:
CV-RWQCB Comnment. 7'he RAI? The plan
indicates inidatlg three weAs will be hwh fled and tested short-
term before three additional wells , if necessary. are installed.
Which three recovery wells are being selected for the short
term nest?
Leprino Response: The three wells which will be initially installers and tested included
RW-1, RW-3, and RW-5 (See Figure 5-1 in the RAP).
CV.RWQCB Comment: What 1s the anticipated radius of influence of the extraction
walls?
Leprino Response: An 8-hour pumping teat was conducted on EW-1 in May 1995.
Based on pre-testing of the well, the pumping rate for the test was
determined to be 3 gallons per minute (gpm). At this pumping
rate , drawdown was observed in MW-4, located 1l8 feet from
F-W-1. R should be noted; however, that EW-1 was an extremely
inefficient well (8.696). We believo that properly 'installed
extraction wells will be more efficient, provide greater pumping
rates, and provide greaser areas of infiuenoe during operation.
Short-term tests will be conducted on KW-1, RV's'-3 and RW-5 to
verify this assumption.
