PAGE 06
HYUHU-5LHKCV1, INC . 303-279-7988 SEPfj'95 13: 10 No -G02 P .05
downgrxdient the current proposed locations just inside Leprino's
property boundary.
CV-ItWQCB Carntment: Monikoft Welt MW-14 at tete western side of the 1.eprino
fArillty,installed in Y+e nmU 199b,has free-product,ludicat ing
the f Wproduet plicae 1s huger than previously thought. An
additional nmahoring wan west of MW-14, likely to be off-site,
Js needed to (Wly denm the extent of the hydrocarbon plume.
Will eoc Uedon wean recover ground Water tear MW-14?
Leprino Response: As stated in tate previous comment response, three additional
monitoring wells are proposedfor installation Off-site to fully
delineate the extent of the plume. Leprino proposes to place one
of these monhoring welly northwest of MW-14 on the opposite
side of the maWead right-of-way. The proposed locations for all
three Monitoring wells are provided in the report titled "Second
Qusrw orouud Water Sampling sed Analysis" (Hydro-Search,
Inc. 1995).
The intent of the exttaciion system is to provide complete
containment across the entire site and prevent any uff-site
migration of dee dissolved and fns-product plume. Ile system
will also be designed to recover portions of the dissolved-plume
which may have potcntlally migrated off-site. Although
extractions wells are currently not planned for installation near
MW-14, an extMcdoo well is proposed to be installed directly
downgradient. Gnouadwater ntrttr MW-14 will thc.-eby be directed
toward the dowagradient extraction well once the system becomes
operational.
If you have any additional questions regarding the KAP,please do not hesitate to contact me at
any time.
Sincerely,
John Ewing, P_P..
LF-PRINO FOODS, INC.
cc: Roy Gremgrass, Lepdno Ponds, Inc.
Chris Williams, Hydro-Search, Inc.
