AMERICAN
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CORP.
Please Refer To:
AEMC Job No. 82472
Date: 14 November 1991
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
American Environmental Management Corporation (AEMC), on behalf of Homestead
Land Development Company, proposes to remediate soil contaminated with diesel fuel in
the ground at 27383 South MacArthur Road in Tracy, California.
The source of the contamination was an underground storage tank which contained diesel
fuel. The tank had not been in use since the 1950s and was removed from the site in
November 1990.
Levels of diesel fuel contamination encountered at the site have been between 850 and
8,000 parts per million Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon Diesel Fraction. Procedures
outlined in the Soil Remediation Proposal submitted to San Joaquin County are designed
to remove and dispose of the remaining diesel-contaminated soil present at the site in
Tracy, California.
AEMC proposes to excavate the contaminated soil from where the tank was buried,
approximately 30-40 cubic yards, and stockpile, cover, and store the soil onsite.
Confirmatory soil samples will be taken from the base of the excavation to show that all
contaminated soil has been removed. An appropriate disposal site for the stockpiled soil
will be recommended based on the laboratory analytical results of the collected soil
samples.
NOV 18 1991
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
slhld-11(ml-5)
9719 Lincoln Village Drive.Suite 501,Sacramento,CA 95827 1(9`16)364-8872
