Stockton,
California.
Dear Mr. Tallia:
This report describes the analytical results of soil samples
collected during over-excavation at the American Savings Bank
property located at 1888 Lockheed Ct. in Stockton, California.
See Figure 1 of Appendix A for the site location. The objective
of the over-excavation was to remove contaminated soil beneath
the south end of a former 10, 000--gallon gasoline underground
storage tank (UST) located at the site. The former tank location
is shown in Figure 2 .
This report includes a summary of the site background, a
description of the field work, and a discussion of the laboratory
analyses . Based on the laboratory analyses and the field
observations gathered during this investigation, the over-
excavation has reached the limits of hydrocarbon contamination.
Recommendations for site closure are included in Section 4 . 0 .
1.0 SITE BACKGROUND AND FIELD WORK
In May, 1993 , Oil Equipment Service removed one ( 1) 10, 000-
gallon UST and associated product piping from the site. Gray-
green stained soil was observed on the south sidewall and floor
of the excavation during the tank removal .
