Site Assessment Work Plan -August 1998
SODA CORNERS
7920 Lower Sacramento:Road, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Rodney Bovee of the Union Safe Deposit Bank,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc. (AGE)has prepared the enclosed Site Assessment Work Plan for the property located at 7920
Lower Sacramento Road in Stockton,California(site). The scope of work includes the advancement
of soil probe borings for the collection of grab ground water samples and soil-vapor samples. The
location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1.A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2. The purpose
of this site assessment is to evaluate soil-vapor and ground water conditions at the site for potential
chlorinated hydrocarbons (HVOC) and oxygenated fuel additives. This Work Plan provides a
description of the scope of work and procedures to be used in soil probe borings, soil-vapor and
ground water sample collection and analysis, and soil boring abandonment.
2.0. BACKGROUND
2.1. SITE LOCATION
The subject site is located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Hammer Lane and Lower
Sacramento Road in a commercial/residential area of low topographic relief in north Stockton at an
elevation between 10 and 15 feet above mean sea level.
2.2. SITE DESCRIPTION
The regional slope of the area is toward the west. Residential properties lie north and east of the site.
No structures are present on the property, construction is ongoing. The surface of the site is covered
by dirt and gravel. The outline and approximate location of structures formerly on the property are
Depicted in Figure 2.
2.3. BACKGROUND
Based on research effected by AGE regarding the site history, surrounding properties and potential
environmental impact to"the site sub-surface AGE has proposed a site assessment. An adjacent
gasoline service station has a documented release of petroleum hydrocarbons, which has impacted
ground water. The fuel additive methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) has been documented as a
portion of the fuel release and impact to the ground water at the site. MTBE may have impacted the
site. Additionally a dry-cleaning facility was formerly located on the site. HVOCs may have been
released from the dry-cleaning facility on the-site.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
