_ CITY OF LATHROP <br /> Fuller Property <br /> 245 Fust Louise, Lathrop, CA <br /> Phase IX Remedial Report <br /> Project # 92-231-3 <br /> 1.0 PROJECT IDENTIFICATION <br /> The purpose of this project was to investigate the soil and groundwater in the area of <br /> the septic tank and leach field. The areas around the shop where soil stains are apparent <br /> w:re also investigated. <br /> 1.1 SITE DESCRIPTION AND JUISTORY <br /> The property is located at 245 East Louise Avenue (APN #195--250-05), in Lathrop, <br /> _ California. The property is approximately 2.95 acres in size and has a steel structure at <br /> the rear of the property, which is the office and maintenance building. The area sur- <br /> rounding the site is mixed residential farming, commercial and heavy industry. The <br /> topography is essentially flat with the nearest significant geological feature being the <br /> San Joaquin River, approximately one to two (i-2) miles to the west. Interstate 5 <br /> _ parallels Harlan Road to the west. <br /> — 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The objective of this phase of work was to attempt to determine the lateral and vertical <br /> extent of soil contamination, if any, and to determine if groundwater had been <br /> impacted by the release of hydrocarbons and solvents to the soil. <br /> T On September 22, 1992, VHF Environmental Consultants, in conjunction with Pierson <br /> Drilling, drilled 8 soil borings on the Fuller property. The location of these borings <br /> _ were around the shop area, and in the area of the septic tank and leach field, and also <br /> in the driveway, which was presumed to be in the downgradient direction (Figure 2.). <br /> On three (3) of the borings (B1, B3 and B7), water samples were also collected using a <br /> hydro-punch type apparatus. The other borings were drilled to the capillary fringe <br /> (Appendix Q. <br />
