_ CITY OF LATHROP
Fuller Property
245 Fust Louise, Lathrop, CA
Phase IX Remedial Report
Project # 92-231-3
1.0 PROJECT IDENTIFICATION
The purpose of this project was to investigate the soil and groundwater in the area of
the septic tank and leach field. The areas around the shop where soil stains are apparent
w:re also investigated.
1.1 SITE DESCRIPTION AND JUISTORY
The property is located at 245 East Louise Avenue (APN #195--250-05), in Lathrop,
_ California. The property is approximately 2.95 acres in size and has a steel structure at
the rear of the property, which is the office and maintenance building. The area sur-
rounding the site is mixed residential farming, commercial and heavy industry. The
topography is essentially flat with the nearest significant geological feature being the
San Joaquin River, approximately one to two (i-2) miles to the west. Interstate 5
_ parallels Harlan Road to the west.
— 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The objective of this phase of work was to attempt to determine the lateral and vertical
extent of soil contamination, if any, and to determine if groundwater had been
impacted by the release of hydrocarbons and solvents to the soil.
T On September 22, 1992, VHF Environmental Consultants, in conjunction with Pierson
Drilling, drilled 8 soil borings on the Fuller property. The location of these borings
_ were around the shop area, and in the area of the septic tank and leach field, and also
in the driveway, which was presumed to be in the downgradient direction (Figure 2.).
On three (3) of the borings (B1, B3 and B7), water samples were also collected using a
hydro-punch type apparatus. The other borings were drilled to the capillary fringe
(Appendix Q.
