3.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> ' The objective of this phase of the investigation is to determine the lateral extent of ground water <br /> contamination caused by a release of gasoline from the former UST or its associated piping This <br /> work will be conducted in accordance with Section 2772(a) of the California Underground <br /> ' Storage Tank Regulations (Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 16 California Code of Regulations) In <br /> order to accomplish the above-stated objective, the following scope of work is proposed <br /> ' Task I - Planning and Permits <br /> ' Conduct a site background investigation <br /> • Prepare and submit this project work plan to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHSIEHD)and the California Regional Water Quality Control <br /> ' Board (CRWQCB) <br /> • Prepare and submit a site specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) to the PHSIEHD and the <br /> CRWQCB <br /> ' • Obtain appropriate drilling permits <br /> Task 2 - Soil Boring Installation and Discrete Ground Water Sampling <br /> • Install soil borings to ground water and screen soil samples with PID <br /> • Select one soil sample from each soil boring for laboratory analysis <br /> • Submit soil samples to a California State certified analytical laboratory for analysis of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons by approved methodologies <br /> ' • Collect a discrete ground water sample from each soil boring for headspace analysis <br /> • Analyze data to determine optimum monitoring well locations <br /> ' Task 3 - Monitoring Well Installation, Development and Sampling <br /> + Overdrill selected soil borings for the installation of monitoring wells <br /> ' • Install, develop, and sample additional monitoring wells <br /> • Submit ground water samples to a California State certified analytical laboratory for analysis <br /> of petroleum hydrocarbons by approved methodologies <br /> ' k 4 - Aquifer Testing <br /> Task q g <br />' ' • Conduct slug or pumping tests and analyze data to establish hydrologic characteristics of the <br /> site <br /> ' Task 5 - Report Preparation <br /> ' + Interpret all laboratory sample analyses and field data <br /> • Prepare site maps, drill logs, cross-sections and other documentation for the report <br /> CA95DE-029 i <br /> American Geological Services,Inc <br /> 3 <br />
