SECOR <br /> International Incorporated <br /> June 1 , 2001 <br /> Project 077.43505 .231 <br /> Mr. Harlin Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division <br /> 304 East Webber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> Re: Work Plan for Site Assessment <br /> Former Chevron Service Station 9-3232 <br /> 8660 Lower Sacramento Road <br /> Stockton, CA <br /> Dear Mr. Knoll : <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), on behalf of Chevron Products Company <br /> (Chevron) , presents this work plan for site assessment at the above-referenced site <br /> (Figure 1 ). The purpose of the site assessment is to further delineate the lateral extent <br /> of petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater beneath the site. Nine cone penetration <br /> testing (CPT) borings will be advanced to assess soil stratigraphy. Adjacent to each <br /> CPT boring, a second direct-push borehole will be advanced to collect groundwater <br /> samples as described in the following Proposed Scope of Work. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is an operating Chevron Service Station located at the southeast corner of Lower <br /> Sacramento Road and Ponce de Leon Avenue in Stockton, California. Current station <br /> facilities include a station building, car wash, four product islands under a common <br /> canopy, and three gasoline underground storage tanks in a common excavation. <br /> Groundwater at the site is located approximately 33 feet below ground surface (bgs) and <br /> groundwater flow during the first quarter 2001 was to the northeast at 0.05 ft/ft. <br /> Additional site investigation information pertinent to this proposed assessment is <br /> summarized in Attachment A. <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work proposed for this assessment includes the advancement of nine CPT <br /> borings to collect soil stratigraphy and the collection of groundwater samples . <br /> 3017 Kilgore Road, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916. 861 . 0400 916. 861 . 0430 Fax www. secor. com <br />
