Chevron Products Company Page 2
Chevron Station M9-3232, 8660 Lower Sacramento Road Stockton California June 1 2,001
Groundwater is anticipated to be encountered at approximately 33 feet bgs based on
recent data.
The specific scope of work is discussed below:
CPT Borings. Nine CPT borings will be advanced in the general locations shown in
Figure 2. These borings will be advanced to approximately 55 feet bgs to assess soil
stratigraphy in the upper water-bearing zone offsite to the east, west, and south of the
site.
Groundwater Sampling. Immediately adjacent to each CPT borehole, a second direct-
push borehole will be advanced to specifically collect discrete groundwater samples.
Depths of the discrete groundwater samples will be determined from the CPT logs in
the field. One groundwater sample will be collected from each of the nine borings in
the first encountered water-bearing zone.
Groundwater samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as
gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and the fuel
oxygenates MtBE, di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), ethyl
tertiary butyl ether (EtBE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) , ethyl dibromide (EDB), and
1 ,2 dichloroethane (1 ,2-DCA) by EPA Method 826013 .
Proposed field and laboratory procedures are presented as Attachment B .
SCHEDULE
Figure 3 provides a graphic proposed schedule of the work described above. This
schedule includes review and comment by the San Joaquin County Public Health
Department (SJPHD) and estimated duration for permitting required with the SJPHD
and the City of Stockton .
1 \Chevron\93232\REP0RTS\CPT WP Rev A.doc
