(Ground Zero) is submitting this Workplan to perform a subsurface
investigation at the subject site (Figure 1). The investigation is being conducted to determine-if
past use has impacted soil and/or groundwater beneath the site. From the information provided
by Mr. Larry Howen and through discussions with the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
'EI it is our understanding that the facili reviousl o. erated four underground
Department (EHD} g facility.p y p g
gasoline storage tanks (USTs) and one waste oil UST.
The proposed scope of work is outlined below.
PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
Ground Zero will supervise the drilling of six soil borings. Three borings will be drilled to a depth.
' of approximately 20 feet below ground surface (bgs) through'the former excavation that housed
r four gasoline USTs, one boring will be drilled to a depth of approximately 20 feet bgs in the
location of the former waste oil UST, and two borings will be drilled to a depth of approximately
10 feet bgs in the vicinity of the former dispenser islands(one at each location).
The borings will be advanced using a .geoprobe 5400 direct-push drilling rig by Fisch
Environmental (C57-683865). Soil samples will be collected at 5-foot intervals for logging and
possible analysis. Groundwater beneath the site is expected to occur at a depth of approximately
40-45 feet bgs and should not be.encountered during drilling. A general site plan and the soil
boring locations are presented on Figure 2.
G AGROANDZE\Howenlwp.doc
i'
