1
The results for sample TX-MW-14-49 reported concentrations of MTBE, ETBE, TBA, and
' 1,2-DCA. The reported concentration of 17 µg/L and 1.4 µg/L exceeded the California MCLs
for MTBE and 1,2-DCA, respectively. The results for sample TX-MW-21-80 reported
concentrations of TPH-g, BTEX, and TBA. The reported concentration of 400 Pg/L exceeded
' the California MCL for benzene.
2.5 Evaluation Of Contaminant Plume
' The lateral extent of impacts to the saturated soil beneath the Site appears to cover most of the
Site due to on and off-site source areas. The lateral extent of impact in groundwater beneath
' the Site including adjacent properties on West Charter Way and South Lincoln Street has yet
to be defined. The vertical extent of impact in groundwater beneath the Site has yet to be
fully defined. However, based on the consistent clay layer encountered at 120 feet bgs and
the non-detect analytical results of soil samples collected near that depth, PSC does not
believe the impact to groundwater is deeper than approximately 120 feet. The groundwater
samples collected from the newly installed well CT-MW-9-120 report TPH-g at 73 pg/L and
benzene at 0.68 µg/L for this event.
' Based on analytical results from this quarterly event and results from samples collected on the
neighboring sites, the groundwater plume from the sites are commingled. Groundwater flow
in the shallow permeable zones is variable both temporally and from site to site. Groundwater
flow in the deeper permeable zones is generally to the east-southeast. Wells screened in the
"A" zone appear to be impacted near source areas. Based on sample results from wells
' screened in the `Br' zone, the commingled plume appears to be migrating in a general easterly
direction.
1
r
' Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
First Quarter—January 2010
Prepared For:Sara Lee Bakery Group,Inc.
