Soil &Groundwater Excavation Work Plan Advanced Environmental Concepts, inc.
>v
during July, 1992. No UST removal permitting, regulatory oversight, and/or soil sampling requirements of San
%00 Joaquin County were undertaken during the 1992 excavation and removal procedures. Subsequent to the UST
removals,San Joaquin County Public Health Service-Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS-EHD) notified
the LIST owners (Mr. Robert Bogetti and Sons) that a written closure plan must be submitted for County
Ir approval. No record of compliance with this requirement or indication of additional site investigations were
identified within SJCPHS-EHD records pertaining to this property. To evaluate the potential for hydrocarbon
contamination in subsurface soil and groundwater an investigation was conducted by AEC in January and
March 1997. The following is a brief summary of this assessment.
V
On January 9, 1996 eleven soil borings (B-1,2,3,...6-11) were drilled on the subject property using a truck-
mounted Mobile B-61 drill rig, equipped with 8-inch O.D. continuous flight, hollow-stem augers. On March 11,
1997 AEC returned to the site an advanced an additional nine hand auger borings (B-12H through B-21 H)to
approximately 15 feet BGL(Figure 2).
The borings were positioned to evaluate the potential for soil and groundwater contamination in areas
suspected of having contained underground storage tanks.
Thirteen "grab"water samples were also collected at the site from the annular space of the borings.
V
Selected soil samples were submitted to Associated Laboratories, Inc., of Orange, California and analyzed for,
or a combination of(TPH-g), (TPH-d), and (BTEX). The analytical results are presented in Tables 1 and 2.
4.0
TABLE-1
Analytical Results-Soil Borings
..
1/9197 and 3/11/97
(ppm)
60 COMPOUND TPH-D TPH-G BENZENE TOLUENE E-BENZENE XYLENES
SAMPLE LD.
60 B-1-5' ND NA ND ND ND ND
B-1-10' ND NA ND ND ND ND
60 B-1-15' ND NA ND ND ND ND
B-2-5' ND NA ND ND ND ND
6d B-2-10" ND NA ND ND ND ND
B-2-15' ND NA ND ND ND ND
rr B-3-5' ND NA ND ND ND ND
B-3-10' ND NA ND ND ND ND
B-3-15' ND NA ND ND ND ND
B4-5' ND NA ND ND ND ND
B-3-10' 2,650 NA 0.03 ND 0.02 0.03
B-4-15' ND NA ND ND ND ND
r
Project: AEC 97V-1805 3
.ENVIRONMENTAL CONCEPTS WITH DESIGN IN MIND-
+ 4400 ASHE ROAD.#206 • BAKERSFIELD.CA 93313 8051831-1646 - FAX 8051831-1771
