ARCADIS Mr. Rob Baur
January 21, 2009
i
Detection Limits (MDLs). Soil sample results are presented in Table 1. Laboratory
analytical results for soil samples are presented in Attachment B.
Soils from the three samples were classified according to the Unified Soil
Classification System (USCS). All three samples from one, three and six feet bgs
were determined to consist of dark-brown silt and clay with little to no moisture. A
boring log of SB-5 is included as Attachment C.
Given the low permeability of the soil along with the lack of detectable concentrations
of TPH as mineral oil, this site does not present a significant threat to environmental
health and no additional environmental investigation is warranted at this site.
Additionally, the presence of multiple underground utilities surrounding the vault box
prevents future assessment activities from being a feasible option. ARCADIS
recommends that no further action be required for investigation at this site.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact either Kathleen Abbott by
telephone at 925.296.7827 or by e-mail at Kathleen.Abbott@arcadis-us.com or Ben
McKenna at 916.985.2079 ext. 30 or by e-mail at Benino.McKenna@arcadis-us.com.
