of the well . The tremie pipe will remain in place in the neat
cement grout until placement is complete . The cover of the
monitoring well will be clearly marked "monitoring well" .
The total boring depth, as well as the depths of the sand pack
and bentonite seal, will be sounded w th a weighted tape during
installation of the well .
Drill cuttings generated during field activities will be placed
on a polyethylene-lined pad and also covered with polyethylene
sheets at the Site.
After the well is completed, the elevation of the top of casing
will be surveyed to the nearest 0 . 01 foot, and tied vertically to
mean sea level and horizontally to a permanent benchmark located
in the vicinity of the Site .
It is anticipated that five soil samples will be collected from
each monitoring well boring (or the equivalent of a total of
fifteen soil samples) . A minimum of three soil samples
(collected from depths of approximately ten and twenty feet, and
groundwater table depth) from each boring will be analyzed.
These samples will be analyzed on a normal two-week turnaround
basis .
l
The monitoring wells will be developed and sampled following
procedures presented in Appendix A. The monitoring wells will
developed a minimum of 72 hours following well installation.
Groundwater sampling activities will be performed a minimum of 72
hours following development of the wells .
4.3 Laboratory Analyses
The groundwater and selected soil samples will be sent to a
state--certified laboratory and analyz d for:
• TPHd using EPA Method 3550/ CFID;
• TPHg using EPA Method 5030/ CFID; and
• BTEX, and MTBE using EPA ME hod 8020/8250 .
111 These samples will be analyzed on a normal one--week turnaround
basis .
5
