Ms. Duncan approved the work plan on June 28, 2000. Summa of Proposed Corrective Action Work The work to be performed is outlined below: 1. Prepare a monitoring well installation and groundwater monitoring work plan. This has already been completed and approved. 2. Install one 2-inch diameter by approximately 50-foot deep monitoring well. Since this well will be drilled through the contaminated source area it will be installed with a conductor casing to limit the possibility of dragging contamination down into the deeper aquifer. Installing a conductor casing causes the fob to take two days to perform, as a result, the cost of installing this well is higher then normally required for a 50-foot well. 3. Collect and test four soil samples for: • BTEX • TPH-G • MTBE • One soil sample will be tested for the oxygenate suite of MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME and TBA. 4. Survey in the top of casing elevations for the new well into the existing four monitoring wells by a licensed land surveyor. 5. Perform a receptor survey to determine the presence of any domestic or production wells within 2,000-feet of the site. 6. Prepare a site characterization report evaluating the groundwater hydrogeologic data and chemical test data. 7. Perform quarterly groundwater monitoring of all wells for one year which will include: • BTEX • TPH-G • MTBE • One event for the oxygenate suite of MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME and TBA • One event for EDB and 1,2-DCA. 8. Prepare quarterly groundwater monitoring reports. Proposed Bidding of Project The budget spreadsheet is attached and shows itemized costs for the proposed tasks. In an attempt to make this Pre-Approval flow smoothly, we have used the same unit costs for this work that has previously been approved by the USTCFP for other work on this project and requested bids from the subcontractors used on this project, including: • Drilling - V&W Drilling • Field support- Del-Tech V&W Drillin - We have found this company to be very cost effective in perforining its services because of reasonable charge rate, fast efficient equipment and a well trained crew. Surver" - Due to the AB 2886 Geo-Tracker requirements, GTI is working with 2 to 3 companies who believe they can accommodate our needs. The final company will be chosen once we meet with them and determine if they will be able to produce the necessary data. We have been given verbal quotes between$2,000 to $3,000.
