Clealagica rechnicsInc. Page 8
Additional Site Characterization
&4'Quarter Groundwater Monitoring
Project No. 1030.2
February 20,2004
Oxidation-reduction potential is negative in each of the five groundwater-monitoring wells.
MW-3 and MW-101 have the highest Redox potential, however, the measurements are still
negative.
1 Thegroundwater temperature at the site ranges between 68.2° and 71.67. The temperature
is slightly elevated in the most highly impacted areas, suggesting some biodegradation
' activity may be present.
The measured pH in the water table wells range between 7.59 and 7.78. This pH range is
' conducive to maintaining aerobic biodegradation activity.
Groundwater parameters measured during the October 16, 2003, monitoring event are
summarized in Table 6 and are included in Appendix A.
2.5 Additional Site Work
Well Development
On November 19, 2003, Del-Tech personnel arrived on site and developed the newly
installed groundwater-monitoring well (MW-5). Development included surging the wells
for approximately 5 minutes and purging the wells until the purged water was nearly clear.
The technician noted that the well exhibited slow recharge.
All water removed from the monitoring well and not used as a sample was placed in 55
gallon DOT approved containers that are properly labeled and temporarily stored on-site.
Purge Water Removal
' On November 25, 2003, GTI and American Valley Waste Oil Company (AVWO) arrived
on site. AVWO pumped and removed 180 gallons of purge water from the site.
GPS Survey
' On December 11, 2003, Thompson-Hysell Engineers and GTI personnel mobilized to the
site to survey the new monitoring well (MW-5) in accordance to AB2886. Mark Pierson,
GTI, cut the top of casing flush using an internal PVC cutter attached to a cordless drill.
' The surveyors conducted the survey on the modified well casing.
The survey data was converted to decimal degrees and submitted electronically to
GeoTracker as required under AB2886, on January 14, 2004. The confirmation numbers
for the electronic submittals are 4523380875 for XY coordinates and 3941222965 for Z
coordinates.
..3.0 RESULTS OF INVESTIGATION
Summary analytical data tables are included in Appendix A. Laboratory Data Sheets are
included in Appendix B. A borehole log is included in Appendix C and the Groundwater
Monitoring Field Notes are included in Appendix D. The Groundwater gradient map is
' included as Figure 4. The analytical results and field observations are discussed below.
