Alpine Meats 26 March 2013
Effective immediately, all monthly monitoring reports must include the required solids disposal
monitoring data and laboratory sheets. All quarterly monitoring reports shall include field logs
and laboratory data sheets.
By 30 April 2013, Alpine Meats shall submit the past due 2012 Annual Monitoring Report.
Please verify accuracy of Table 2 (Summary of laboratory Reports for Quarterly Monitoring
Parameters) for all four quarters of 2012 and include copies of the analytical laboratory data
sheets.
With regard to the possible facility expansion, if the expansion will result in a change in the
volume, character, or treatment and disposal location of wastewater, Alpine Meats must submit
a Report of Waste Discharge to the Central Valley Water Board at least 150 days prior to the
expansion. For information regarding submittal of a Report of Waste Discharge, please contact
Scott Armstrong at (916) 464-4616.
Alternatively, staff understands that because of development in the area, sanitary sewer may be
available. Therefore, Alpine Meats may be able to connect to the city sewer and cease the
discharge of wastewater to the ponds and land application area, at which time the wastewater
ponds and monitoring wells could be properly decommissioned and Order R5-2002-0025 would
be rescinded.
If you have any questions regarding this inspection report, please contact me at (916) 464-4635.
Brendan Kenny
Compliance and Enforcement Section
Enclosures: Photographic inspection log
cc: San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, Stockton
Scott Armstrong, Central Valley Water Board, Sacramento
Inspection#11559605
