LFR Inc.
5.1 Groundwater Elevations and Gradient '
Depth-to-groundwater measurements were recorded on June 1 and 23, 2006, and are '
summarized in Table 1 and the calculated elevations for June 23, 2006 are shown on
Figure 3. The measured depth to groundwater during the June 23, 2006 sampling event '
ranged from 60.51 feet below top of casing (btc) (MW-2) to 109.53 feet btc (MW-7).
Groundwater elevations in the site wells ranged from 62.81 feet msl in monitoring well
MW-7 to 64.76 feet msl in monitoring well MW-2. The groundwater flows under a '
shallow horizontal hydraulic gradient of approximately 0.001 toward the north-
northwest, based on the June 23, 2006 groundwater elevations (Figure 3). These
results are generally consistent with previous results for the Site. '
5.2 Groundwater Analytical Results
Tables 3 and 4 provide a summary of the analytical results for organics and metals '
(respectively) and the laboratory analytical reports are presented in Appendix C.
Pyrolytic oil constituents consist of diesel- and motor oil-range hydrocarbons, but not '
actual diesel fuel; therefore, the laboratory commonly reports the data as exhibiting
chromatographic patterns that do not resemble the standard for diesel fuel.
VOCs and SVOCs '
VOCs and SVOCs were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in groundwater '
samples collected from wells MW-1, MW-5, MW-7, and MW-8 during the June 1,
2006 sampling event. '
Diesel-Range Petroleum Hydrocarbons
Diesel-range hydrocarbons were detected above the laboratory reporting limit in the I
groundwater samples collected from MW-1 (52 pg/1), MW-7 (150 µg/1), and MW-8
(200 ,ug/1) during the June 1, 2006 groundwater sampling event. The groundwater I
sample collected from well MW-8 was analyzed for diesel-range hydrocarbons again
during the June 23, 2006 event and it was detected at 1,100 µg/1. As expected, the
reporting limit exceedances for pyrolytic oil constituents (diesel-range hydrocarbons) I
during these two events were reported by the laboratory as exhibiting chromatographic
patterns that do not resemble the standard for diesel fuel.
As described in Section 4.0 of this report, the results for diesel-range hydrocarbons I
detected in the sample collected from well MW-7 (during June 1, 2006) well MW-8
(during June 23, 2006) are qualified as estimated due to noncompliant RPD values. I
Motor Oil-Range Petroleum Hydrocarbons
Motor oil-range hydrocarbons were detected above laboratory reporting limits in the I
groundwater sample collected from well MW-8 at 490,ug/l during the June 23, 2006
I
Page 6 Final GW Mon Rpt June 2".doc:LFR I
