The conduit will extend north, and then south to the existing Verizon Wireless equipment shelter.
Soil disturbed may require offsite disposal.
SCOPE OF WORK
A fuel above ground storage tank (AST)of unknown content, capacity, age and construction is currently
present in the eastern portion of the subject parcel. In addition, several fuel storage tanks have been
historically used on the subject parcel. A 350-gallon diesel underground storage tank (UST)located on
the western portion in close proximity to the subject property was filled with slurry and abandoned in place
in 1987. On the eastern portion, a 250-gallon waste oil UST, 1,000-gallon diesel UST, and 2,000-gallon
gasoline UST were installed in 1940. The diesel and waste oil USTs were removed in 1987 and the
gasoline UST was removed in 1993. A closure letter was issued for the gasoline UST removed in 1993;
associated analytical data did not indicate impacts. No closure letter or sampling results were found for
the waste oil or diesel USTs. The lengthy use of various fuels on the subject parcel with limited
documentation regarding potential impacts that could affect the subject property indicates a potential
concern
TASK 1: PRE-FIELD ACTIVITIES
Bureau Veritas will obtain the appropriate drilling permit from the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department(SJEHD). The SJEHD requires a permit fee and on site grout inspector to be present
during abandonment activities and requests a copy of the completed report. In addition, the completed
Master File Record Information Form and Boring permit application are appended.
Bureau Veritas prepared a site specific Safety and Health Plan (SSHP)to reflect the proposed work at the
subject property. The SSHP details the work to be performed, safety precautions, emergency response
procedures, nearest hospital information, and onsite personnel responsible for managing emergency
situations. A copy of the SSHP is appended.
Bureau Veritas will mark the subject property with white paint and contact Underground Service Alert
(USA)at least 48 hours prior to conducting the field activities. In addition, Bureau Veritas proposes to
utilize a private utility locating service to clear boring locations prior to conducting field activities. Bureau
Veritas will not penetrate the subsurface within three feet from a known underground utility
TASK 2: FIELD ACTIVITIES
Upon clearance of utilities, Bureau Veritas will contract with licensed C-57 drilling contractor to complete
the proposed investigation using truck-mounted direct-push (Geoprobe)equipment to advance the
borings. Three borings(BV-1 though BV-3)will be advanced in the vicinity of the proposed generator.
BV-1 through BV-3 will be advanced to approximately 5 feet bgs. The proposed boring locations are
shown in Figure 1. The exact boring location will be based on access restrictions, identified subsurface
utilities, and encountered field conditions.
Soil Logging and Sampling
Bureau Veritas will attempt to collect soil samples from the borings at intervals to the total depths drilled
for the purposes of soil classification. However, due the shallow depth, boring logs will not be generated.
Work Plan Central Lodi
