lI
1
SUMMARY OF WORK
500 Gallon Gasoline UST & Concrete Fuel Vault
Former Lockeford Winery
Lockeford, California
The following describes the prior and additionally proposed activities at the
former Lockeford Winery, located at 12470 Locke Road, Lockeford, California.
Included below is a brief site background, an overview of the work to be
performed'and specific descriptions of these activities.
1.0 500 Gallon Underground Storage Tank
1..1 Background
On August 20, 1999 a 500 gallon underground storage tank was removed and
E transported off-site under manifest for disposal. The UST was a single wall steel
 s
tank and formerly contained gasoline. The UST was last used in the late 1980's
and was dry and empty. After removal, a backhoe was used to collect a soil
sample at a depth of two feet below the invert of the UST (approximately 8 feet
below ground surface). A four-in-one composite sample was also collected from
I the soil stockpile. The sample taken from below the UST contained 690 ppm
TPH gasoline. Please see attached Sample Result Summary.
Based on the soil conditions, sample results and visual inspection of the
excavation it is anticipated at this time that a minimal amount of contaminated
soil will need to be removed from the excavation to obtain closure of the site.
Therefore, this investigation is concerned with determining the vertical and ;
lateral extent of the contamination as well as the concurrent removal of the j
contaminated soils.
1 of 3
's
it
