A monitoring well (MW-104) was placed in r
this boring with a five foot screened interval starting at 24 feet below the water table.
Since well MW-104 was installed, SJCIEHD staffing has changed. In their November
18, 2002 letter correspondence, SJC/EHD has rescinded previously submitted- work
pians and have called for phased approach to continue the site investigation. The h; _ . g phased
approached consists of performing a Cone Penetrometer Testing (CPT) investigation,
followed by monitoring well and groundwater extraction well installation and then an
aquifer testing for remedial alternative evaluation. GTI supervised the installation of
eight CPT boreholes on December I —4, and the installation of a groundwater extraction
well EW-1 on December 12, 2003. A report summarizing this work is being drafted and
will be submitted in February 2004. The report will include recommendations for '
additional site characterization.
i
3.0 LIMITATIONS
This report was prepared in accordance with theenerall d standard
g y accepted r of cart and
jpractice in effect at the time Services were rendered. It should be recognized that definition
and evaluation of environmental conditions is an inexact science .and that the state or
practice of environmental geology/hydrology is changing and evolving and that standards
existing at the present time may change as knowledge increases and the state of the practice
continues to improve. Further, that differing subsurface soil characteristics can be
experienced within a small distance and therefore cannot be known in an absolute sense.
All conclusions and recommendations are based on the available data and information. i
The tasks proposed and completed during this project were reviewed and approved by the
local regulatory agency for compliance with the law.
