GeofogicalTerkcicslxc. "..'`
. Page 10
Interim Remedial Action Plan
Project No.622.2
March 28,2005
4.2 Plume Control
This effort to control the groundwater plume is both an interim remedial action and an
r ongoing pilot test. to determine aquifer response to pumping. The data generated by field
L• monitoring will be analyzed by constructing time-drawdown graphs. The variables used in
the common aquifer testing formula can be obtained from the graphs. The exact equations
that will be used and hence the corresponding graphs are not known at this time because it is
unknown if the aquifer test will reach steady state conditions. However, a "Discussion of
= Applicable Equations" is included in Appendix B. x
In the event that a cone of depression p with a large radius develops due to the groundwater
extraction from EW-1, the data will also be analyzed by distance-drawdown methods. To use
distance-drawdown accurately, the cone of depression must reach at least three observation
wells that are located at three different distances from the extraction well.
The data that is generated will be used to complete the site conceptual model and for
preparation of the final Corrective Action Plan (if necessary).
L
5.0 SCHEDULE AND REPORTING
O NG
r; Upon system installation and startup, an interim progress• report will be submitted to
— SJC/EHD. This report will cover the dual phase system installation and details pertaining to 1
the initial radius of influence testing. Recommendations for system improvements will be
made if necessary.' }
Proposed Schedule of Work
The proposed schedule for the interim remedial work is as follows:
Task Description Completion Data
• Submit Interim Remedial Action Plan April 2005
• Receive approval for the RAP June 2005
• Prepare budget/USTCFP three bid process July 2005
• Submit SJVUAPCD permit applications August 2005
• Award Bids/Order Remedial Equipment September 2005
• Installation & startup of remedial system November 2005
• Perform remedial effectiveness testing December 2005
0 Prepare interim progress report January 2006
