Main <br /> Lodi, Ca <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the <br /> "Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report"dated July 1992 prepared by Steffen,Robertson and Kirsten for <br /> the above referenced site. <br /> Levels of Lead evidenced are above the Federal Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCL) and the proposed State <br /> MCL for drinking water. In November 1991 Toluene was detected in the groundwater samples from MW-2 <br /> and MW-3. In April 1992 Benzene, Toluene, Ethyl-benzene, nor Xylene were detected in the groundwater <br /> samples. Quarterly groundwater sampling should continue at this site. <br /> A survey of private, municipal, and irrigation wells within 2000 feet of the site should be conducted and <br /> included in the next quarterly report. <br /> Also please include the groundwater gradient calculations for the site in your next report. PHS/EHD staff <br /> calculates the gradient to be south-southwest. If the gradient is to the north-northeast as the report states <br /> the site lacks a monitoring well within ten feet of the former tank location in the down-gradient position. <br /> The report lacks the signature and/or seal of Greg W.Knell, California Registered Geologist.
