5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMAMNDATIONS
The absence of detectable concentrations of gasoline and aromatic constituents in soil samples analyzed
from the confirmatory soil borings provide conclusive evidence that soil vapor extraction has been very
effective in removing adsorbed phase gasoline from subsurface soils in the vicinity of the former USTs.
It is SEACOR's opinion that the gasoline-affected soils in the vicinity of the former USTs have been
' adequaely remediated and that groundwater underlying the Site is no longer at risk. This conclusion is
further supported by the absence of detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater
directly underlying and downgradient from the former USTs.
On the basis of these findings and previous investigation efforts, SEACOR recommends no further
investigation or remediation of the Site. SEACOR respectfully requests that the SJCPHS recommend
closure for this Site. Once Site closure has been approved, SEACOR recommends the three existing
groundwater monitoring wells be abandoned in accordance with state and county requirements.
1
CONFMM.PIT
50014-005-01 8
I
