EHD has a contract with the California State Water Resources
Control Board to conduct a UST corrective action program. The above referenced site was
placed in the EMD Local Oversight Program in 1991 as a result of the gasoline contamination
found in soil and ground water during a limited site investigation at your site in March 1987.
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)has completed a review of the Site
Conceptual Model (SCM)for your site prepared by Stratus Environmental and offers the following
comments.
The site investigation and soil/groundwater remediation have been completed for the above
referenced site. The SCM has summarized the data and supports the requirement for post
remedial confirmation sampling prior to site closure consideration.
Soil excavation, soil vapor extraction, and groundwater air sparing were conducted in the area of
the unauthorized release (MW-S-land MW-S-2). Soil confirmation sampling in the area of the
release, near S-1 and S-2, needs to be performed. Down-gradient groundwater confirmation
sampling in the area of MW#4, the only current groundwater MW evidencing contamination, will
be required to further characterize the vertical extent of the plume and to aid with calculating
remaining contaminant mass in groundwater.
Please submit a Work Plan, permit applications and fees to perform post-remediai confirmation
sampling by April 28, 2006. You must have the work completed by May 19,2006 and submit a
report of finds by June 16, 2006.
If you have any further questions regarding this matter, contact Harlin Knoll at(209)468-3442.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS Nuel Henderson, PG
'LOPISite Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
cc: CVRWQCB—Jim Barton
cc: SWRCB, Cleanup Fund
cc: Stratus
