Box 2009 C Stockton, California 95201
'400014
Subject: Work Plan to Perform Subsurface Investigation
Keenes Corner
ErJVIROrJMENTAL 735 North Main Street
ENGINEERING Manteca, California
Dear Sirs/Madames:
INDUSTRIANorthwest Envirocon, Incorporated (NWE) has been authorized by Mr. Paul Fry
HYGIENE` to prepare this work plan to perform a subsurface investigation at the subject site
(Figures 1 and 2). This proposal includes the collection of soil and groundwater
samples for laboratory analysis.
Project Background
n ANAGEME°N It is NWE's understanding that the site is currently a multi-tenant commercial
structure and previously operated as a retail gasoline service station. Available data
indicates that groundwater is present at a depth of approximately 20 feet below
ground surface, with an estimated groundwater flow direction to the west.
Available documents and San Joaquin County Public Health Services-
SERV;CES
LABORATORY Environmental Health Division (SJEHD) information indicate that a 10,000-
ES nvon l )
gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST), a 7,500-gallon gasoline UST, a
5,000-gallon gasoline UST, and a 550-gallon waste oil UST were removed from
the subject Property in May 1987. Soil samples collected during the UST
removal reportedly did not contain detectable concentrations of petroleum
constituents, lead, volatile organic compounds, and polychlorinated biphenyl
FINGINEERING
MAINTENANCE compounds l ounds (/ ) PPCBs in soils beneath the site. However, due to the collapse of an
ENGIN
UST pit wall, SJEHD believes that an adequate number of samples were not
collected from the UST excavation. In addition, the laboratory detection limit for
many of the chemical analytes apparently exceeded current standards. Therefore,
SJEHD has requested additional investigation of the site.
ASBESTOS
Scope of Services
The work described in this work plan is intended to assess the presence or absence
of petroleum hydrocarbon constituents, halogenated volatile organic compounds
(HVOCs), and/or metals at selected locations underlying the subject Property.
ENVIRONMENTAL The intended scope of services is outlined below.
rRAIN,rJG
OFFICES NATIONWIDE
