Am <br /> Winston#209 <br /> Manteca,CA <br /> August 8,2002 <br /> 4.0 SITE RECONNAISSANCE <br /> 4.1 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS <br /> ` No evidence of current or past use of underground storage tanks (USTs) was observed (i.e., no <br /> vent pipes, pavement patch work, pump islands, or fill ports) at the Site during the Site visit or <br /> reported to SECOR through records reviews and interviews. <br /> 4.2 ABOVE GROUND STORAGE TANKS <br /> _ One approximately 240-gallon steel aboveground storage tank(AST)was observed at the Site. The <br /> AST was being used for storage of new motor oil and was located inside the service area on the <br /> south wall at the east end of the building. There were no obvious leaks in the AST and only a small <br /> amount of staining in the concrete floor was observed. <br /> 4.3 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AND STORAGE CONTAINERS <br /> 4.3.1 Batteries <br /> Approximately 15 new batteries were being stored in the service garage near the showroom <br /> entrance. No used batteries were observed stored on the Site. <br /> 4.3.2 Air Compressors <br /> One air compressor was noted at the Site. The air compressor is located in the southeast <br /> corner of the building behind the new tire storage racks. There appeared to be a minor <br /> staining on the concrete floor beneath the compressor, however the concrete was intact <br /> with no visible cracking. No environmental issues were noted in the area of the air <br /> compressor. <br /> r <br /> 4.3.3 Parts Washers <br /> Two parts washers were observed at the Site. The parts washers were located in the service <br /> ,. area on the south side of the building. No staining or environmental issues were observed <br /> in the area of the parts washer. <br /> r 4.3.4 New Oil Storage <br /> New oil storage was located in the AST in the service area along the east side of the <br /> building. There were containers packaged for retail sale stored on shelves in the service <br /> area near the entrance to the showroom. No staining or environmental issues were noted <br /> in the area of the AST. <br /> 4.3.5 Used Oil Storage <br /> Used oil was stored in three 55-gallon drums within secondary containment units located in <br /> the northeast end of the service area pending removal by Asbury Environmental Services. <br /> ` Minor staining of the concrete floor around the drums was noted. No environmental issues <br /> were noted in the area of the storage drums. <br /> ` 4.3.6 New Antifreeze Storage <br /> New antifreeze in 1-gallon containers was stored on shelves in the service area near the <br /> entrance to the showroom.
