Managers are responsible for providing Big O Tires employees with information and <br /> training on hazardous substances to which they are exposed or may be exposed in the <br /> work place. This training shall include: <br /> a) An explanation of any hazards associated with.materials or products defined as <br /> hazardous in this program. <br /> b) Proper precautions for handling these substances and labeling requirements. <br /> c) The required and necessary personal protective equipment and any other precautions <br /> that are needed to minimize exposure. <br /> d) Emergency procedures for spills,fire,disposal and first aid. <br /> e) An explanation of a material Safety data sheet(MSDS)and what it is used for in our <br /> communications program. <br /> f) The location of the Material Safety Data Sheets for hazardous substances that are <br /> found on our jobs and the availability of these sheets to the employees. <br /> g) The requirements of the law(Section 5194, Title S, California Code of Regulations or <br /> Section 1910.1200 of the Code of Federal Regulations). <br /> r h) Methods of observations to detect the presence of hazardous substances <br /> i) Any operation or work area whore hazardous substances are present or may be <br /> released. <br /> 2. Managers shall train each new Big O Tires employee on the information required by law <br /> and make a MSDS available, if requested by the employee. <br /> 3. A new or revised material safety data sheet shall be reviewed by the Safety Director or <br /> designee. If the new information indicates significantly increased risks,measures <br /> necessary to protect employees health shall be taken. <br /> EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITY <br /> All Big O Tires employees must use good judgment in work situations where hazardous material <br /> are present or are likely to be present. Failure to follow standards and procedures on recognized <br /> hazardous materials may result in disciplinary action. <br /> OTHER ON-SITE EMPLOYERS <br /> If Big O Tires is sharing a workplace with another employer and using a hazardous substance, <br /> provide the other employers with a copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet for the hazardous <br /> substances if requested. <br /> If other employers are using substances that create a hazard for Big O'Tires employees,then the <br /> Big O Tires foremen will inform the contractor. <br /> Updated September 2005 - 34- <br /> � 'd girls-9ce-602 62# S3NIi 0 JIH e99 :L0 90 20 Jew <br />
