A 55 gallon black steel drum of waste aerosol cans was observed in room S2 (shop) with a <br /> hazardous waste label date 4/12/13. Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per <br /> month and do not exceed 6 00 kg of waste stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 <br /> days. Immediately contact licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest <br /> and submit a copy of the m nifest to the EHD by May 9, 2014. <br /> 703. The emergency coordi ator and alternate listed on the modified contingency plan stated "principal" <br /> and "assistant principal" wit no names. There must be at least one person identified as the emergency <br /> coordinator on site or on call to coordinate emergency response measures, and the following information <br /> must be posted by a phone: he name and phone number of the emergency coordinator; location of fire <br /> extinguishers, spill control e uipment, and if present, fire alarm; and the phone number of the fire <br /> department, unless the facili y has a direct alarm. The modified contingency plan was corrected at the <br /> time of inspection. <br /> 804. A used four-foot fluores ent tube was observed stored uncontainerized in the old wood shop. <br /> Universal waste lamps shall e contained in a closed container or package that is structurally sound, <br /> adequate to prevent breaka e, and compatible with the contents of the lamp. The tube was placed in <br /> the properly closed universa waste tube container at the time of inspection. <br /> 808 & 907. A used 4 foot flu rescent tube was observed stored unlabeled in the old wood shop. A can <br /> of spray paint with a broken ctuator, unlabeled, stored on a locker and a green plastic tub of eight <br /> waste aerosol cans were ob erved unlabeled in room S2 (shop). A generator shall label or mark <br /> universal waste with the wor s 'Universal Waste' and the type of waste (batteries, mercury containing <br /> equipment, lamps/bulbs, ele tronic devices, CRTs, CRT glass, aerosol cans). A container storing <br /> aerosol cans shall be labele as "universal waste - aerosol cans," "waste aerosol cans," or "used <br /> aerosol cans." The tube and aerosols were placed in properly labeled containers at the time of <br /> inspection. REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 902 & 908. A can of spray palint with a broken actuator, stored on a locker, and an open green plastic <br /> tub of eight waste aerosol cans were observed in room S2 (shop). Except when waste is being added <br /> or removed, aerosol cans shall be stored in a container that is closed, structurally sound, and compatible <br /> with the contents of the univrsal waste aerosol can, and shall show no evidence of leakage, spillage, or <br /> damage that could cause lea age under reasonably foreseeable conditions. A generator shall label or <br /> mark universal waste with the words 'Universal Waste' and the type of waste.
