Chemical wastes gen <br />rated in the chemistry labs and dissection wastes from the biology labs are <br />being disposed of without fi <br />st determining the hazardous properties. According to the chemistry teacher <br />on site, chemical wastes ar <br />assumed non -hazardous and disposed of in the trash, or diluted and <br />disposed of down the drain. <br />Biology dissection wastes are disposed of as biohazard wastes. Any person <br />who generates a waste shall <br />determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately stop disposal of <br />chemistry and biology wast <br />s, make a hazardous waste determination for these wastes, and manage <br />them according the Title 22 <br />hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting <br />documentation explaining <br />ow this waste was managed by November 17, 2011. <br />REPEAT VIOLATION <br />305. The eyewash station <br />n the boiler room was observed with chemicals and containers stored in front <br />of it, blocking access. All facility <br />communications and alarm systems, fire protection equipment, spill <br />control equipment, and decontamination <br />equipment, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to <br />assure its proper operation <br />in time of emergency. Immediately conduct all necessary testing and <br />maintenance on this equipment, <br />remove items stored in front of the eyewash, and maintain clear access <br />to all decontamination and <br />)ther emergency equipment. <br />ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED <br />WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br />THIS FACILITY ISS <br />BJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE <br />Inspector.
