09 April 2002
AGE-NC Project No 98-0497
' Page 4of4
' • Measured ground water elevation was approximately 35 7 feet below MSL, and was within
the screened interval of each monitoring well Ground water flow direction was toward the
east-southeast with a gradient of 0 0004 feet/feet Historically, flow direction at the site has
' been toward the east or has had no observable gradient
• Contamination by TPH-g and TPH-d was encountered in the ground water sample collected
' and analyzed from MW-1 Concentrations of TPH-g appeared to have stabilized since the
March 2001 monitoring event The detected concentration of TPH-d in the sample collected
from MW-1 during the March 2002 monitoring event is higher than that detected during
' recent monitoring events, but is withing the range of concentrations detected since
monitoring began in August 2000 TPH-g and TPH-d were not detected in wells MW-2
through MW-5
' • BTEX compounds were not detected in any of the ground water samples analyzed
• MTBE was not detected in any of the ground water samples analyzed Fuel additives have
not been detected in ground water samples since monitoring began in August 2000
• The hydrocarbon-impacted ground water plume appears to be limited to the area immediately
surrounding MW-1 The inferred areal extent of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water is
illustrated in Figure 4
' 6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of this and previous investigations, AGE recommends continued quarterly
monitoring of the ground water monitoring network The next monitoring event should be scheduled
for May2002 In accordance with the EHD letter dated 20 July 2001,groundwater samples collected
during the next quarterly monitoring event should be analyzed for fuel oxygenating compounds
' 7.0. LIMITATIONS
' Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the hydrogeologic
conditions at the site have been made from a limited number of available data points(i a monitoring
-wells, ground water"samples)and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points No -
other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional interpretations, opinions and
' recommendations contained in this report
•
' Advanced GeaEnvironmental,Inc
