09 April 2002
' AGE-NC Project No 98-0497
' 4.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation and flow direction were inferred from field data, hydrocarbon-impact to
ground water was assessed by laboratory analysis of the ground water samples
4 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
Ground water elevations were determined by subtracting the measured depths-to-water from the
surveyed casing elevations The average ground water elevation on 04 March 2002 was 35 69 feet
' below mean sea level (MSL), with the average depth to water at 50 6 feet below casing tops The
average ground water elevation in the wells had decreased 17 feet since the last ground water
monitoring event Ground water was within the screened interval of each monitoring well
' The ground water gradient for the March 2002 monitoring event was inferred to be 0 0004 feet/feet
with a flow direction toward the east-southeast
4 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS FROM GROUND WATER SAMPLES
The analytical results from the 04 March 2002 ground water sampling event are as follows
• TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in well MW-l at concentration of 580 micrograms per liter
(µg/1) and 42,000 pg/l, respectively The laboratory report noted the presence of a sheen in
' the sample from MW-1 and the chromatograph indicated that strongly-aged gasoline or
diesel compounds were significant
• BTEX compounds were not detected in the five ground water samples analyzed
' = MTBE was not detected in the five ground water samples analyzed
' Laboratory results of water samples analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons are summarized in
Table 2 Copies of the laboratory reports for the quarterly monitoring event (MAI Lab IDs
' 0203074-001 through 0203074-005),QA/QC reports and chain-of-custody form are in Appendix B
5.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
The findings of the 04 March 2002 ground water monitoring event include the following
•
' Advanced GcoEnvsronmental,Inc
1
