i
10 August 2006
• AGE-NC Project No 95-0497
' 3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation and flow direction were Inferred from field data Hydrocarbon-impact to
iground water was assessed by laboratory analysis of the ground water samples
' 3 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
At the time of the May sampling event, depths to ground water at the site ranged from 6160 feet
' (MW-5)to 63 01 feet(MW-4)below the tops of the well casings Ground water elevation at the site
averaged approximately 37 42 feet below mean sea level (MSL), indicating an average Increase in
ground water elevations of 3 67 feet since the last monitoring event in February 2006 Ground water
elevation data is included in Table 1
Ground water flow direction was calculated from the ground water elevation data The ground water
' was Inferred to be flowing west-southwest at an approximate hydraulic gradient of 0 001 ft/ft
Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as measured on 31 May 2006
i •
32 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
The analytical results from the May 2006 ground water monitoring event are as follows
i • TPH-g was detected In well MW-I at a concentration of 11,000 micrograms per liter(Lgll)
The laboratory report noted that the detected concentration was mostly in the diesel range
• TPH-d was detected in well MW-1 at a concentration of 60,000 µg/l
• BTEX compounds MTBE were not detected in the five ground water samples analyzed
Laboratory results of the submitted water samples are summarized in Table 2 The Inferred areal
extent of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water is illustrated on Figure 4 Copies of the laboratory
' report(CTEL Project No CT214-0606005),quality assurance/quality control(QA/QC)reports,and
chain of custody form are provided in Appendix E GeoTracker confirmation pages of the submitted
laboratory electronic deliverable format (EDF) files are included in Appendix D
4.0.
