Ms. Margaret La orio <br /> g g <br /> San Joaquin County PHS/EHD <br /> May 6, 1994 <br /> Page 2 <br /> (5) The groundwater samples will be transported to.a Department of HealthServices-certified <br /> laboratory under chain-of-custody documentation and,will be analyzed using a fuel fingerprint <br /> scan (EPA Method 8260 modified). If a sufficiently large groundwater sample can be <br /> obtained, the groundwater will be additionally analyzed for,total extractable petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as.diesel and.motor oil (EPA Method 3510/8015 modified). Analyses will be <br /> conducted on a 24-hour turn-around time basis. <br /> i <br /> (6)-_ ?A11 Sampling and°drilling equipment-will be�steam cleaned and/or was hed'in'a water/industrial I <br /> detergent solution and rinsed in distilled water prior to use at each sampling location: F <br /> (7) Soil cuttings, steam cleaning-rinsate, decontamination wash water.and any purged <br /> groundwater will be stored on-Site in DOT approved 55-gallon drums. -The drums will be <br /> labeled describing: the type and source of the material; the name and phone number of a <br /> contractor and generator contact; and the accumulation date. After-analytical results are <br /> received, the drums will-be.relabeled either as hazardous or non-hazardous waste, and <br /> arrangements will be made for appropriate disposal. <br /> (8). After completion of sampling_at each location, the borings will be backfilled with bentonite- <br /> cement grout by pumping,from'the-bottom up though the augers, or through a tremie pipe if <br /> free groundwater is encountered in the borings. This work will be done in the presence of a <br /> San.Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental-Health Division, inspector. <br /> Enclosed with this work plan is our check for $234 per your Site Mitigation Fee Schedule and <br /> a.completed copy of Pages 10A'and lOB of your Master-File Record for the Site. As we discussed, <br /> our schedule has been somewhat compressed. We have-tentatively,scheduled the work for <br /> Wednesday,.May 11, 1993.
