Mr. Sam Savig
C A B R I A September 24, 2001
EXTENT OF HYDROCARBONS IN GROUNDWATER
During the June 19, 2001 meeting with the Public Health Division of San Joaquin County Public
Health Services, Equiva was asked to assess the horizontal and vertical extent of hydrocarbons at
the site.
Horizontal Extent of Hydrocarbons in Groundwater: The horizontal extent of hydrocarbons in
groundwater appears to be defined at this site. Groundwater monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3,
MW-5A and B, and MW-6A and B do not have detectable levels of hydrocarbons, and are
located to the west, north, northeast, and east of the source area, respectively. The extent of
hydrocarbons is defined to the south by non-detection in samples collected from CPT borings
CPT-13 and CPT-14.
Vertical Extent of Hydrocarbons in Groundwater: The vertical extent of hydrocarbons in
groundwater appears to be defined by deeper zone groundwater monitoring wells MW-4A,
MW-5A, and MW-6A. Wells MW-5A and MW-6A do not contain hydrocarbons, and well
MW-4A contains MTBE at a concentration of 7.2 ppb.
CLOSING
We appreciate the opportunity to work with you on this project. Please call Owen Ratchye at
(510)450-1984 if you have any questions or comments.
4 Sin
Sincerely,
Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc
 z
XenE e}r
Senior Project Engineer d"
C► 1t
Figures: i - Groundwater Elevation Contour Map - Zone A p OF CA1.
2 - Groundwater Elevation Contour Map -Zone B
Tables: 1 - Groundwater Extraction System - System Analytical Results
2 - Groundwater Extraction System-Mass Removal Calculations
Attachments: A- Blaine Groundwater Monitoring Report and Field Notes
B - GWE System Analytical Results
cc: Karan Pe—yna 17—i-, Q—irve Y T C P 0 Rnv 7RFQ Rirlhnnlr C4 41510-7R(4
Marcus Pierce, RWQCB 3443 Routier Road, Sacramento, CA 95827-3098
Robert G. den Dulk, 2412 Avenue 360, Kingsburg,CA 93631
Dale Ramey, City of Ripon, 259 North Wilma Avenue, Ripon, CA 95366
Michele Dias, Herum, Crabtree, Brown 2291 West March Lane, B 100, Stockton, CA 95207
g;lripon341 mainlgml3q 0 L q m.doc
3
