1.f City of ' Fire 12 Stockto re Station No. - A68105.01
August 7, 1995 Page 6
5.0 RESULTS AND FINDINGS
Results of the field investigation and laboratory testing are summarized in the following
L+ subsections.
f
5.1 Soil Profile: The soil profile beneath the site consists of strata of sand with silt, sand
with clay, and clay alternating with strata of silt to a depth of 45 feet BSG, the greatest
depth explored. Descriptions of the conditions encountered in the soil borings are presented
i in the logs of soil borings in Appendix B.
The foregoing is a general summary of the subsurface conditions encountered in the soil
fi^ borings drilled for this investigation. Stratification lines on-the soil boring logs represent
Lr approximate boundaries between soil types. Actual transitions between soil types may be
gradual, and the interpretation of various soil types from soil cuttings is subjective.
5.2 Groundwater Conditions: Groundwater was not encountered during this
investigation. According to SJCPHS, the seasonal high groundwater corresponds to.a depth
of 50 feet beneath the site.
I
5.3 Soil Sample Analytical Results: A.summary of soil sample analytical results for soil
borings B-2 through B-4 are presented in Table 3. Laboratory analysis reports and chain-of-
custody documentation are presented in,Appendix C.
I
_i
