60 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> 61 Conclusions <br /> ' These conclusions are based on the data collected during performance of this ESA and <br /> are therefore subject to the time limitations associated with accessing governmental and site <br /> data The purpose of this assessment was to evaluate the likelihood of soil and groundwater <br /> degradation as a result of the use, storage, treatment, and/or disposal of hazardous <br /> materials/waste on the subject site and sites located within a one-mile radius Findings are <br /> based on a geological and hydrogeological information study, and an evaluation of historical <br /> and present property use (aerial photograph review and site reconnaissance study) <br /> Historical review - Historical review revealed that the site was occuppied by a former <br /> service station A letter correspondance from Chevron to Mr Sherman Hineman revealed <br /> that this service station was formerly operated by Chevron and that all underground tanks <br /> were removed in January, 1976, however, all underground piping remained on site <br /> Agengy Record Review - The environmental database search by EDR revealed two <br /> mapped sites within a one-mile radius that could potentially impact the subject property Of <br /> these two sites, none were reported to have had impacts from hazardous materials <br /> However, one site, Golden Star Liquors, was noted as having underground storage tank(s) <br /> Site reconnassaince of this site address revealed a former All Star Gasoline Station Visual <br /> inspection of this site revealed an area of compacted backfilled gravel next to apparent <br /> former pump islands suggesting the tank(s) and pumping appurtances were removed <br /> Further inquiry of the City of Stockton Fire Prevention Division regarding the former <br /> Chevron station and former All Star Gasoline station did not reveal any information <br /> regarding the environmental condition of these sites Environmental sampling during the <br /> PHASEI6 6-1 95-1104801 <br />
