PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY ,
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DMSION
Karen Furst, M.D., M.P.H., Health Officer .. P
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor• Stockton, CA 95202
209/468-3420 FILE C
JOHN & MARGARET MARCI
MARCIS DIESEL SERVICE AUG 3 11998
2973 LOOMIS ROAD
STOCKTON CA 95205
RE: 2969 Loomis Road SITE CODE: 2015
Stockton, CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD) has reviewed the "First Quarter 1998 Groundwater Monitoring
Report" dated April 28, 1998, and the "Second Quarter 1998 Groundwater
Monitoring Report" dated August 17, 1998, prepared by William J. Hunter &
Associates for the above referenced site.
The quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) laboratory data sheets for the
dates the samples were analyzed were not included in the report. In addition the
QA/QC data sheets for the samples collected December 2, 1997 still have not
been submitted. Please submit these data sheets immediately.
The arrow indicating the direction of the groundwater gradient on Plate II for July
1, 1998 points to the northwest although the text of the report and the elevations
indicate the flow was to the northeast. Please correct this plate in the next
report.
Water is above the screened interval of monitoring well (MW) one and at the top
of the screened interval of MW4. Although the gradient is divergent it has been
to the southwest more often than any other direction. The soil and groundwater
sample results from MW 4 indicate higher contamination in that direction from
soil boring 1-131 then in the direction of MW1.
The information gathered to date at this site was discussed at the PHS/EHD Site
Mitigation Unit meeting on August 26, 1998, it was decided that further site
investigation should be conducted to the southwest and northwest of MW4 to
define the extent of the contamination in those directions. A work plan for
installation of additional soil borings/monitoring wells should be submitted to
PHS/EHD by November 1, 1998.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
